Hi, I’m Mel
I’m a travel blogger from the UK focusing on finding the lesser known tourist spots around the globe. I began Blondie Abroad about 5 years ago and love adding new sights we find on our travels.
For the past few years, I’ve travelled the world and visited over 30 countries. My husband and I have had some amazing adventures along the way. The fun’s not over yet!
This blog is all about sharing what I have found so you can get the most out of your travels. I hope this site inspires you, gets you excited to travel and a helping hand. My latest adventures included Koh Lanta, Krabi and Phuket Old Town. As you can guess I love Thailand and enjoy writing my Blondie Abroad blogs when travelling around this gorgeous country.
Blondie Abroad is where I share with you not just the typical places to visit, but those you may not have heard of. Obviously it’s great to see the most famous attractions wherever you are going, however sometimes it’s the unusual places which can make your day! For example ‘Train Street’ or the downed B52 Bomber plane in the middle of Hanoi. Unless you knew they were there you could walk right past and miss them!
See a bit of nature taking back control at the ‘hidden hotel’ destroyed by the 2004 tsunami in Khao Lak. Others ‘attractions’ are just downright odd such as the Kingdom of Somchais’ Affection on the tiny island of Koh Mak. I have done the research and provide maps for the really hidden gems so you can enjoy the sights. You’re Welcome!
