Having been fortunate to see a lot of Thailand (not enough yet though) I was blown away by this one. Koh Lantas Most Beautiful Beaches are literally everywhere, you just keep stumbling on them! Grab yourself a scooter and on your way to it's other amazing sights stop at some beaches. Here are my favourite ones from our recent trip, although by no means did I get to all of them, we ran out of time.
Relax Beach
This is where our hotel was located and it was just perfect. golden powder sand with blue sea and fishing boats dotted around the shores. There were ample bars to feed and water you without it being overcrowded whilst still living up to its name.
Tricky Trocky
My favourite one of them all out of all of Koh Lantas beautiful beaches. What makes it special is its only accessible at low tide or it disappears! Situated between Beautiful & Khlong Khong, you may miss it. There are some lovely rocks to climb on to view it on its south side.
Beautiful Beach
Two coves down from Relax beach you will find this namesake. Here you are not only treated to a more or less empty stunning beach, if you are a bit thirsty there is a little restaurant here to feed and water you! It doesnt get much better than this.
Gintare Beach
This is the next beach down from Relax beach and is even more relaxing. Literally nothing but you, the sand and the sea on this small but stunning beach. Simply walk through the trees at the south and you will find it. Low tide is easier as there is a stream you have to cross, but in the heat its lovely and cooling.
Ao Nui Bay
We missed this on the first drive past and had to turn around. We had been to the Lighthouse in the south and were heading north, we knew it wasn't far up. The place where all the bikes are parked on both sides is a giveaway, and then you walk down through a wooded area. At the bottom is a little restaurant and an amazing bay! Watch out for the climb back up, its quite steep!
Khlong Khong Beach
If you like it a bit more lively then head here. There are lots of huge hotels and therefore the beach has more than enough bars to cater for all the tourists, giving it a much wilder atmosphere. It is the next beach down from Beautiful Beach and is very long. The sand isn't as powdery here though which is a big minus for me. I'll take my 'Relax Beach' any day.
Do you agree Koh Lanta has the most beautiful beaches yet?
Banboo Beach
We had lunch overlooking this amazing golden strip as once again we missed the turning and were hungry. Service wasn't the best we have had, very moody staff however the view was what we came for. The food was very tasty though too, so we left happy! This is one of the first beaches you reach going north after visiting the Lighthouse in the far south.
Ba Kan Tieng Beach
Dotted with boats along the shore and only a handful of hotels in the area this lovely beach is well kept and not overcrowded as you can see. This was one of my favourite views on our beach hopping scooter day. This beach is the next one north from Bamboo Bay and is very easy to find.
