The Best Siem Reap Hotel by far = Shinta Mani Shack

by BlondieAbroad

Completely ignore the name; the best Siem Reap hotel by far = Shinta Mani Shack! From the moment I spotted this boutique hotel on Trip Advisor I knew if we ever travelled to Siem Reap I would be staying here. So when our travel itinerary was heading in that direction I called on Mr C to get booking! From the moment you arrive you are treated so well by the incredibly friendly staff. Now trading under a slightly different name, it seems this hotel is even more spectacular than when we stayed here! Now it is called Shinta Mani Angkor & Bensley Collection Pool Villas! Enjoy!

Reception

The hotel has a funky, stylish and colourful vibe going on at a very reasonable price. I love my creature comforts however when travelling I like a local feel too. This hotel has everything you could need with a Cambodian feel to it.

Your Room

The rooms were just as advertised, plenty of space, clean and up to date with a lovely little terrace outside. The bed was comfortable, but to be fair after travelling I’m so tired I would sleep anywhere!

Facilities

How big is the pot?

We were out so early after the first night to see Angkor Wat that it was so nice to relax by the lovely pool when we returned. More than big enough to do lengths in and with a lovely garden design I had a nice nap here whilst catching some rays.

Annndddd Relax….

We eat here one night, however I cannot possibly comment on how nice it was as I had a 24 bug. Nothing I eat would have tasted nice, my husband seemed to be tucking in to his dish with gusto though. The setting was very pretty with lights around the pool and seating area too.

Pool Grounds

What is the location like?

Being right in the middle of Siem Reap this hotel is really well placed to do a spot of foot touristing! Yes that is a word I just made up, however I feel it works. We wandered in to town to see the market and find a bar. Pub street is not far and it had a great atmosphere going on so we made a stop. Being starving by this point from my stupid bug all I was craving was a pizza! Sorry! I was just so hungry! Mr C tried a Khmer curry and declared it delicious! I did want to try it but didn’t want a repeat of the previous 24 hours so pizza it was.

Bug U Like…..

Mr C took himself off for a moment and came back with a present for me……a scorpion on a stick. I’m not remotely high maintenance however this was not received very well, especially after feeling so awful lol.

Did I eat it??????

Love My Pictures? Now Available To Buy!

Sneak Preview!

All the photographs on this site have been taken by me which is really important to me. How many times have you visited a blog only to find they have used stock photos. (Probably because they have never actually been to the places they are talking about). Some I am particularly proud of I have made available to purchase via Picfair. Head over to my store and get yourself a print.
