Kindee
This restaurant is to the left of the hotel entrance on the road, during the day you cannot see it. Hidden behind bamboo sliding doors is a little gem! A tranquil bamboo & lantern filled garden is what greets you beyond. The food is Asian Fusion and was absolutely amazing!
Yawee
You know a restaurant is going to be good when you need to queue to get a table. We were not the only ones to have found this delight, people were turning up in tuk tuks & cabs! The restaurant is halal & doesn’t serve alcohol which was no problem for us. The menu was extensive, the staff super lovely & the food was one of the best I’ve tasted! Aside from that it was also one of our cheapest meals too. This restaurant is a couple of places up on the right of our hotel.
Yang Garden Restaurant
I found this on several other blogs as a place to try, the reviews looked great. I have to say after eating at the previous two places I was underwhelmed & found this overpriced and a little pretentious for the location. Lanta is a chilled island after all. More bamboo & lanterns fill your dining area, However it was really quite busy & therefore the staff were overstretched & less friendly than at the others. The food was very good though, we both enjoyed our dishes, just not the price!
Sunshine Viewpoint
Out on our bike for the day we headed south from the old town and came across this fantastic place. Run by a lovely family this restaurant has a VIEW! We both ordered soups which were outstanding. We spent a lovely hour or so here escaping the heat of the midday sunshine (traded for the heat of our spicy soup!).
Beach Bars
All our other meals were eaten at beach bars along the sea front, varying in quality & price dependant on venue. However you cannot beat fresh fish & a sea view with a cocktail.
So what is Koh Lantas Best Restaurant in my opinion? It’s a tricky one, but I think for lunch I’d choose Sunshine Viewpoint & dinner for a treat I’d go back to Kindee.
